Images from Usher's Birthday
I was fortunate enough to be able to play for an A-list crowd at Usher's 26th Birthday Party. I was within arm's reach of "The Donald" for most of the evening and even had a small chat with Star Jones. Anyway, here are some images of the evening. Please excuse the quality as they were taken with a pocket cam in very low light without a flash. At the end of the evening, P-Diddy's posse saw that I had a camera and politely "suggested" that I stop taking pictures. Click here for the Image Gallery from the evening.

Here's what the press had to say:

Usher had a ton of fun at his 1920s-theme birthday party Sunday night - unlike some record-industry execs. As a 16-piece band played, the 26-year-old R&B star could be found on the Rainbow Room dance floor, where he, Sean (P. Diddy) Combs, Jay-Z and Jermaine Dupri (looking like successful bootleggers) surrounded their "moll," Mariah Carey, as she did some flapper moves. Some Josephine Baker-style dancers with pasties on their chests and bananas on their hips were also there to keep the joint jumping. Savion Glover tap-danced. Patti LaBelle sang "Happy Birthday." And Usher, sporting his new $40,000 Audemars Piguet watch, always seemed to have a glass full of Moet Nectar Rosé. Naomi Campbell's NC Connect organized the retro evening. Despite some problems with seating, our spies say Usher showed his gratitude to the supermodel by buying her a big ring at Fred Leighton. But, knocking down rumors of romance, a witness says: "They didn't seem to be a couple." Also there were Denzel Washington, Donald Trump and Melania Knauss, Steve Stoute and Penny Marshall.
PATTI LaBELLE sang "Happy Birthday." Sean Combs emceed. Billie Holiday and Josephine Baker look-alikes mingled in the crowd. It was Usher's 26th birthday party at the Rainbow Room over the weekend. Naomi Campbell's party planner Ed Libby — under Miss Campbell's instructions — transformed the Rainbow Room into "The Cotton Club Meets Great Gatsby." Fifty pieces of period silver, velvet plumped-up furniture and a salon/bedroom setting, were created. I guess this is where the sexy singer reclined and greeted his 500 guests, including Liv Tyler, Spike Lee, Ian McKellen, Donald Trump, Heidi Klum, Richie Rich, Quincy Jones and Denzel Washington.
